His work at the London Games in 2012 earned him and his team the Dedicated Medal from the President of the Italian Republic for advancing Italian culture in tandem with the Olympic Spirit. Compatangelo also worked as deputy manager at the international press office at the World University Games in 2007 and the Mediterranean Games in 2009. He worked as a journalist for Infront in a Sky TV show. He also headed the press office for Eurosport TV, for WWE in Italy, and event planning for the NBA European Live Tour, and for 16 years has worked as a publicist in many international press offices including those in Australia, Canada, Italy, China, and the United States. He is one of the few Italians honored abroad for achievement both in production and journalism.
